I did some painting last week!! I worked on a few untitled works in progress and started some new pieces
A lot of thick acrylic and graphite pencil. All untitled at the moment. Maybe I’ll post follow up pictures to encourage me to finish these? I nit-pick too much and never finish projects - that’s my problem.
I have been extra inspired with the first one, though - It features original art from my early drawing years in the border. It’s fun to re-visit such early drawings of mine. I think some of the earliest pieces I’ve unearthed were from when I was maybe 3 years old. My trademarks from them were usually long eyelashes and big, bratz-like lips. The artist I was is woven into the artist I am.
⭑ ☆ this week's projects : apparel ☆ ⭑
I spent the last few days wrapping up this most recent batch of personal projects! These will be washed today - the blue indicator marks should fade, and the lines will look cleaner. They'll probably still need finishing touches after the wash and dry but I feel like they're mostly to my liking. I'll definitely have to wear them out to really know how i feel.
The last pink cardigan features the lyrics to the song "Where do you go to, my lovely?" by Peter Sarstedt with each letter typed individually.the song touches me.
Not a whole lot to share so i figure i'll keep it short n sweet
I hope you had and will continue to have happy holidays thanks for stopping by ♡ ‧₊˚ ⋅ ౨ৎ ‧₊ .ᐟ xoxo Benzie ✮

This week I'm wrapping up my next batch of personal apparel projects (currently curing) and will be picking up my brushes again to finally do more painting. It really feels like it's been a while and I miss it. Lately, when ideas come up for traditional pieces, I've just started sketching and planning the reference photos I'll need. I have maybe 5 new traditional pieces planned? Also, maybe 5 works in progress additionally? Trying not to overwhelm myself by jumping in with too much too fast, but here's hoping I get back into the flow of traditional art.
Sometimes it's hard to juggle projects in multiple mediums. I always feel like there's too many things to do and never enough time. I also came across some old fishing lures and my quarter machine capsule stash I had wanted to use in some side projects. (will share pictures when those wrap up) I have a lot I hope to cross off the projects list. There's a lot to do tomorrow too. If it's nice out tomorrow, maybe I'll walk to the park for a hula-hoop break. we'll see ❤︎₊ ⊹ xoxo B e n z i e /)/) ( . .) ( づ♡
I hope Halloween was great for all of you ! ☠︎︎ ☠︎︎ ☠︎︎
I kept celebrations lowkey this year because I worked the next morning but had a fantastic time regardless <3 I had some time to finish my DIY and dressed as avenger Chuck E Cheese (my sweet sweet partner accompanied me as Munch). We ended up handing out candy, eating pizza, and re-watching "Return of the living dead" (1985).
Before the Halloween festivities started on Thursday I walked around the Westminster mall for a while. Did you knowwe'll be losing it early to mid 2025? :( Was taking some pictures to commemorate amd saw someone else doing the same thing.
I also found they have a claw machine arcade on the second floor and won two toys! Hoping to visit again soon to check out the remaining boutiques. RIP Westminster mall August 1974 - 2025
I'm also inadvertently feeling a tinge of holiday spirit today. While letting episodes of The Twilight Zone play in the living room, the Christmas episode "Night of the Meek" came on - it makes me a little weepie and nostalgic. It's also gloomy out so extra cozy. Started my annual re-watch of Freaks and geeks - gonna watch an episode and work on some personal apparel projects.
thank you for stopping by til next time ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ xoxo ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - B en z i e
☠︎︎ ☠︎︎ ☠︎︎ Helloo welcome to my first blog post ☠︎︎ ☠︎︎ ☠︎︎
Not sure what finally encouraged me to start making posts. I hand-write in a personal journal but something about typing out some of my day-to day sounds satisfying to me. I also think I'm hoping it'll be a way to further internalize and share some of my goals: creative and personal. I don't share a whole lot about myself, and I'm not motivated to do it through social media. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Some small goals I'm working on currently:
Now spending the evening trying to spruce up the site and re-watching "April fool's day" (1986). Haven't seen it in a while, but I like it for what it is. I like a who-dun-it, especially when they're cheesy. It's goofy, 80s, and Tom Wilson is in it. Kinda cool. Also am sitting here anticipating the credits of the movie where they play the song"too bad you're crazy" by Jerry Whitman. So good. Any song with a kazoo solo has my interest. also will be using this page as an excuse to re-visit my love of adding glitter graphics to my page. My past myspace-loving self would be happy. thanks for stopping by xoxo benzie |
